Where the data comes from

The game client

Classes, races, abilities and talents are read from the data tables of the WoW Forever client, build 1.60.1.70338 (beta). wago.tools publishes these tables for every game build; our script downloads them from there.

• 416 abilities: the spells and techniques each class learns on its skill lines, with the level they are learned at. All ranks of a spell make a single card.
• 415 talents: those of each class's talent trees, with their tier. A talent you can cast also counts among its class's abilities.
• Names are the client's own, in French and English, used as they are, even where the client has no translation.

The images

Icons are the game's official icons, fetched once from Blizzard's image server and Game Data API, then hosted on this site. Icons that only exist in Forever, such as the Skyborne race portrait, are extracted from the client files. The card frame and the rest of the interface are made for the site.

What we add

• Card descriptions are written by us, based on the game's text, without numbers: values change with every update.
• Maximum rarity is a site rule, not game data: it depends on the level an ability is learned at, or the points to spend in the tree to reach a talent.
• Sorting follows the client: what it puts in a talent tree is a talent, what it teaches on a skill line is an ability. No card is added or removed by hand; an ability or talent the client does not describe is not a card.

Limits

• WoW Forever is in beta: game content changes, and the cards will follow the next builds.
• The client does not tell everything: what class trainers actually teach is decided by the game servers. A card may exist here without being available in game at that time, or the other way round.
